Nope, we certainly aren’t. Seems obvious, doesn’t it? But it isn’t. We are not our patrons; nor do we think or behave like our patrons, nor do we share the same perceptions as our patrons.
Let’s use the eraser on the end of those wonderful pencils to erase the concept that we are like our patrons, and then use the sharpened lead at the other end to draft a new way of engaging with patrons, without content and with a delightful blend of know-how, fun, curiousity and true interest in our patrons.
