field trip at the NPPL

Some first graders from the elementary school came to the library for a field trip today. Two quick things to report:

- I asked, “Any questions about the library?” One little bugger replied, “No noise.”

- There were a number of interesting Reader Recommendation slips turned in. This little guy, I’m sure, has no idea about how libraries are successfully integrating games into their services. He just naturally knows they belong. Books? Games? It is all content.

Its all content

  1. elizabeth,

a colleague and i went to CIL2008 and enjoyed the gaming session on sunday night. as result of that experience and subtle and not so subtle suggestions, we’ve convinced the higher management to get us a wii. so thank you for helping us with proof that it’s possible and has a place in libraries.

  2. Really, you are offering wiis in the public libraries? Wow, this is really a difference!

  3. Yeah, a few libraries have them set up all of the time, and many more libraries have special gaming events!
