Aaron, thanks so much for linking this tool! What a fabu idea, and easy to pop into our code! We're doing a big furniture overhaul, and I included a slideshow of the "first wave" of installation on our library website (http://www.apl.lib.in.us/furniture.html). Very cool - will definitely use in the future for meeting rooms, instruction, local history resources and more. Thanks!

mol,

not to my knowledge. you might want to check out <a href="http://www.techsmith.com/products/studio/default.asp" rel="nofollow">camtasia</a>. might be easier to use than flickr for library instruction. i like it.

i was just trying to decide if we should buy flash to do an online library instruction tutorial or use (yuck) microsoft powerpoint with voice over. it sounds like mp3s with a flickr slideshow might be just the thing. has anyone done this yet?

Other applications (most are "more of the same" as what you've suggested):
- User Education (show visually how to use an OPAC or how to access the latest online database, for instance);
- Invite library uses to submit their fav. books and feature the covers as "Books of the Month" in pictures;
- A series of "A Day in the Life of..." pictures, featuring the fireman, policeman, teacher, and of course the librarian;
- Scanned notes of reader's recommendations or comments of books read;
Finally... intersperse all the above with sublimal messages like "you WILL read"; "Reading is GOOD"; "I read good, No read bad"... (kidding)

I'm not sure how this looks to other people, but I see this fine when I go to your web page, but it's a big black box when I view the post in an RSS reader. Is there something about the way the flash works that you have to load the page it's in to get the slideshow to start? Curious. Neat tool!
