This is such a good idea! Thanks. We booked with a local rental company ( http://www.amusitronix.com/Dance_Revolution.php ) and they came and set it all up. I was a little surprised that their set-up was actually better looking that the arcade version. The kids had great fun and we saw plenty of fresh faces in the library. Anyone who did not have a library card already was signed up for one and many of the new kids have come back again the use the library "for real".

[...] Michael Stephens reiterates that library 2.0 is more than technology, to which, I imagine, some of us are saying, “Well, thank goodness!” Not all of us have us have huge budgets to send people to conferences or the space/time/staff support/equipment to hold DDR nights or coworkers who are hip to (or interested in being hip to) the latest hot tags on del.icio.us. Many of us are still operating in .98 beta. [...]

I'm glad you've had a great success too. Wouldn't you agree that it is pretty easy to throw together and a major bang for the buck?

The Scottsdale Public Library System had an impromptu DDR session at our Palomino Library, co-located with a high school. I also used the PS2 and had only one metal dance pad...but that dance pad was busy from the second I got the PS2 turned on at 2:45 until we kicked the last kid off at 5:00. At one point, there was 4 teens waiting their turn. They couldn't wait until I returned with the set-up.

This is a fantastic program, Aaron. What a clever way to collect comments and feedback, and you directed them into great activities while they were waiting for their turn. I like that you only do 2 player at a time - I find with 4, it's hard to see the screen.

Cool. I especially like how you used the kids' "down time" to record some reviews.
